Yee-Haa!

We've just come back from Cody's Rodeo. I was expecting a kind of Cowboy 'Show', probably because our Disney Rehab programme isn't quite finished. Anyway it wasn't a show, it was real cowboys competing against each other in various competitions, none of which would pass any health and safety conditions or any risk assesment. There were also a few competitions for children, all of whom were fantastic riders. There was one competiton any child could enter, where they all stood in a rough line. They then unleased two calves with bandanas tied to their tails and the children had to chase after them and take the bandanas from their tail. Joshua (suprisingly) was keen to join in, luckily he didn't get any where near them! It's the first time I've been actively pleased he isn't a fantastic sports man. I sat in horrified shock through the whole Rodeo. Sam loved it of course, though being nervous of dogs, wasn't going to get near any cows!

The rodeo started with us being asked to stand for the American flag being brought in to the Star Spangled Banner, then a prayer was said. Respect was again shown to the Forces' veterans. All things I can't imagine happenning in Britain.

The boys have managed to fit in three swims today Two at motel swimming pools (I still haven't managed to work out the difference between hotels and motels but the boys, yes all of them, were excited that we could park straight outside our door today) and one in Yellowstone Park. We went to Boiling River where the water is too hot to bathe in (naturally heated of course), but where it meets the Gardiner River it's lovely and warm, so we all had a dip.

We're sat here with the TV on, but (with aplologies to any Americans reading) although there are loads of channels, and Johnny is very excited about the sci-fi channel, we can never find anything to watch. The adverts are geting quite repetitive too. The other night we ended up watching BBC America!

Tomorrow we're moving off to Red Lodge to meet up with Kyla, Scott and girls, Kyla's mum and dad, her brothers and their fmilies. Both boys are really excited about meeting up with them again. The boys rated visiting them earlier this week in equal first place with Disney as the best bit of the holiday!
