We were again down by Florence Bridge this afternoon having a bit of a dip in the river and a play in the sand and what do you know the start of another movie. A group of late teenagers come to the other side of the bridge and start working their way across the bridge struts so they can swing and jump into the river. Somewhat dangerous for starters but the more so when you realise that this is a scene from a slasher movie. I was astonished when despite appearing happy go lucky and high spirited they weren't attached by a giant Barracuda or a school of mutant killer piranhas.
Despite this disappointment for things not to run to script our kids had a great time playing together, Kyla and Scott's Bailey and Joshua floating off on various adventures while the others did their various things.
Scott arrived back from where he is currently working away from home. What a relief for Kyla to escape from my incessant stream of questions and reflections. Rachel feels that poor Kyla is taking a bit of an ear boxing. But I just want to know how the plumbing works, who controls building rights, what's kept in the refrigerator, how the state legislator relates to Washington that type of thing that anyone would want to know. Now Scott is here to share some of the pain of my ongoing interest. Poor lad straight off a heavy work week and not even a chance to open his book without being pummelled with questions on the war of independence or a discussion on the history of the British Empire.
Back from the river Rachel is now playing The Great Stream Train Game of Britain which we have brought along as a little taste of Britain for our colonial cousins.
Meanwhile we amaze Kyla with exotic tales of refrigerators with only one door, milkmen and cars that do 40 mpg and other wonders.
