Our last day before setting off home and the annual highpoint of the McFarland family outing - a trip to the lake. But this is not a trip that dwells on the admittedly impressive scenery, this is a day focused on the jet ski, the speed boat and tube.
Imagine the boys excitement at getting a chance to go on a speed boat. This is Sam's idea of heaven for starters, let alone when added the chance to go on a jet ski in front of uncle Garret. And then there is bouncing along behind the speed boat on a tyre.
Pig in muck or what!
Of course it has you thinking, how could we compete with this if visited in Liverpool? OK we have no jet ski, no wilderness but hey wouldn't it be fun to go on a real train straight out your front door, or the evening entertainment of waiting in for a grocery delivery? Thrill at the compact British fridge, gasp at a family fitting into a European car, shake your head in disbelief at the family pub and beer garden.
I guess everywhere has its ups and downs, of course when you are on holiday you experience all the ups and none of the inconveniences.
The smaller kids are all in bed so we are introducing the Yanks to Jungle Speed, currently causing much excitement. This followed a pre-dinner round of 'The Great Game of Britain'. hopefully pictured here.
