First day in Missoula

Wednesday 6th August

What a view!

Kyla and Scott have a fabulous house made out of wood (something like in Grand Designs!) with lots of land and a fabulous view of the mountains, just what we need after the 'plastic' of Disney.

We've had a lovely first day including pancakes for breakfast, swimming in the river and (for me at least) a little nap in the afternoon.

Kyla is a great host, mostly because Johnny has been talking with her (or at her!) all day and she hasn't complained!

The children have all played well together, enjoying pillow fighting, playing 'Game of Life' and just hanging out together. Kyla and Scott have three children; Bailey aged 8, Kellyn aged 7 and Olivia aged 4. They have all made us feel really welcome.

We've had a great first day here and we've still got two weeks before arriving home. We haven't got fixed plans for the next few days but we're thinking we'll chill a bit, perhaps go camping in the mountains for a few days, then take a long route to Red Lodge via Yellowstone Park. We're looking forward to a more relaxed pace of life out here in the 'big country'.
